Penelope and the M-7
RST and SRI International joined forces on May 7th 2006 for a first-ever demonstration of unmanned
telesurgery involving a robotic surgeon and a robotic scrub technician. Penelope 3.0 delivered
supplies to SRI’s M-7 robot which used them to carry out sponging and suturing of a simulated surgical
wound. This demonstration was sponsored by the US Army’s Telemedicine & Advanced Technology
Research Center (TATRC).

Kelly Clamp
In this movie the doctor asks for a Kelly clamp. Penelope 2.8 finds the clamp on the Mayo stand
and hands it to the doctor. When he’s finished he simply lays it down on the transfer zone. Penelope
sees it there, picks it up, spins it around, and lays it neatly back on the Mayo stand.
