The Learning Channel July 12th, 2006. Hear how "Penelope could become a permanent fixture
in every OR" by helping hospitals avoid the accidental retention of surgical instruments. RST and SRI International joined forces on May 7th 2006 for a first-ever demonstration of unmanned
telesurgery involving a robotic surgeon and a robotic scrub technician. Penelope 3.0 delivered
supplies to SRI’s M-7 robot which used them to carry out sponging and suturing of a simulated surgical
wound. This demonstration was sponsored by the US Army’s Telemedicine & Advanced Technology
Research Center (TATRC).
